  • Marketing assistance
  • Quarterly newsletters
  • A small grants fund for capital and revenue projects
  • IT support for the computer centres
  •  Partnership working with relevant organisations for the benefit of member halls
  • Resources including booking forms and equipment hire
  • Useful and relevant information
  • Representation of TVHC at/on relevant meetings and groups
  • Information, resources and training on portable appliance testing
  • Four open general meetings per year for all member halls to attend
In order for us to deliver our key services we have developed a diverse portfolio of revenue generating projects:

Training Contracts

The Consortium has a number of contracts with the Learning and Skills Council across County Durham and Tees Valley to deliver free training to eligible learners; typically those who are unemployed and who require new skills to get them back into employment. We offer a wide variety of courses from food hygiene and first aid to portable appliance testing and the national certificate for personal licence holders. These contracts generate income for the Consortium and many volunteers in Teesdale have benefited from the training.

net:gain

Fergus Arkley, Business and Development Manager for the Consortium delivers net:gain workshops which help voluntary and community organisations maximise the benefits of ICT for their organisation. Participants work towards compiling a ten step ICT plan and are given access to ICT expertise, marketing advice, grants and funding, consultancy and much more.

Events Promotion

The Consortium in conjunction with Teesdale Marketing promotes events happening in the Teesdale area. We promote the events in many different ways including the production of a bi-annual events guide which is distributed regionally and contains a wide variety of events. Being involved in this promotion means we can ensure that as much publicity as possible is given to events taking place at the village halls helping to generate income for the hall by attracting more people.
