The Town
Barnard Castle is a market town and has a unique historical character. It has been recognised nationally as one of the 51 most historically and architecturally important towns in Great Britain. The town is named after the 12th century castle that was founded by Bernard Baliol. The castle was protected by the River Tees and the ruins attract many tourists to the town. Other attractions in the town include the Butter Market and the Bowes Museum.

The Hall

The size and layout of St Mary’s Parish Hall make it an ideal choice for private and business functions.

The hall is available for hire for:

Regular activities ongoing in the hall include table top sales and markets, coffee mornings, a mother and toddler group and yoga.

Facilities: The modern kitchen facilities include a fridge and microwave. There is a stage making it an ideal venue for productions and concerts.

Equipment: There are adequate chairs and tables and ample crockery and cutlery is available. There is also various sports and play equipment available.

Parking: There is a designated car park with 8 spaces plus roadside parking is available.

Access: There is access for all into the hall with ramps and handrails providing access into the Main Hall and Guild Room.

Commercial £14.70 per hour, min. hire 4 hours.
Training (professional leader), Funeral Teas, Charity - fundraising £10.50 per hour, min. hire 2 hours.
Community/clubs/associations £7.20 per hour, min hire 2 hours.

GUILD ROOM
Commercial £7.40 per hour, min. hire 4 hours.
Training (professional leader), Funeral Teas, Charity - fundraising £5.25 per hour, min. hire 2 hours.
Community/clubs/associations £4.10 per hour, min hire 2 hours.

COMMITTEE ROOM
Training (professional leader), Funeral Teas, Charity - fundraising £3.20 per hour, min. charge £6.50
Community/clubs/associations £2.10 per hour, min charge £5.25
