Butterknowle Village Hall

Butterknowle Village Hall - Main Shot

The Village
Butterknowle is a pretty village within the Gaunless Valley, close to the town of Bishop Auckland. It is home to the Gaunless Valley Visitor Centre which celebrates 600 years of industrial heritage in the area.

The Hall

The village hall is located on Pinfold Lane and was opened in 1962. The trustees of the Village Hall Association purchased the land on which the village hall stands for the princely sum of £311.11s.0d. (three hundred and eleven pounds eleven shillings) which in today's terms would equate to somewhere in the region of £4000. The hall was extensively refurbished in 2001. The size and layout of Butterknowle Village Hall makes it an ideal choice for private and business functions.

The hall is available for hire for:

• Meetings/Small Conferences
• Stage Productions and Concerts
• Training
• Rehearsals
• Parties
• Dances
• Sports Classes
• Functions
• Social Events
• Fairs and Sales

Regular activities ongoing in the hall include Baek Ho Taekwondo, modern sequence dancing, play group and bingo.
